I am a full-stack software engineer in New York City, born and raised in Texas. I love using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React.js, Node.js) to build projects, and have also built full-stack applications using Vue.js, PostgreSQL, and Django.
I have a background in editing and writing, which I have levaraged to create precise and clean code. Also, I have a background in performing and writing (my work can be seen here). I've taught and coached improv, which has helped me communicate effectively when working on teams. I love building applications on topics that have meaning to me, like civics and literature. I'm excited to continue learning about the constantly changing tech landscape.
I look forward to using my skills to develop software and create applications to benefit companies and institutions. I hope you enjoy the projects I made. My So-Called Civic Life is an application that allows users to find their local, state, and federal public servants, and keep track of their legislative activity.
I used Vue.js, a JavaScript framework, as well as PostgreSQL and Django. The application has full CRUD (create, read, update, delete) functionality. Real-time data is provided by external API calls utilizing the Google Civic Information API and the ProPublica Congress API.
My Very Graphic Novels allows users to discover comic books and graphic novels from a curated list.
The application uses the MERN (MongoDB, Express, React.js, Node.js) stack. I used Mongoose to create models and build queries, and the application hits all REST API calls.

This application utilized the PERN (PostgreSQL, Express, React.js, Node.js) stack, has full CRUD operations, and utilizes Firebase for login functionality.
